Information You Submit
Search entries. A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Marion County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy controls its processing.
Messages. If you send an email or submit a contact message, we keep the information needed to read and answer it. A message is not shared outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure, such as through a valid legal demand.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary web technology may create technical records each time a page loads. Those records can include:
- The internet protocol address used for the connection.
- The browser name, type, and version.
- The device class and operating system.
- The pages opened and the time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.
- The date and time connected with the request.
Cookies. Cookies and similar storage help measure how visitors use the Marion County pages. A browser can reject or remove them. Blocking cookies may cause some site or partner-tool features to work differently.
How Information Is Used
The information described above supports limited operational purposes:
- Deliver the site and maintain reasonable speed and reliability.
- Send a search request to the outside provider selected by the visitor.

Reasonable Data Safeguards
We use standard administrative and technical practices intended to protect information in our control. No internet-connected system, storage service, or transmission method is completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach, interception, loss, or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek personal information from anyone under eighteen. If a parent or guardian believes that a minor submitted information, use the Get in Touch page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the requester, a person may:
- Ask for a copy of personal data we hold about that person.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Ask that eligible information be erased.
- Object to or opt out of certain forms of processing.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised as site practices, services, or legal requirements change. The updated version takes effect when it is posted here with a revised effective date. Visitors should review the notice from time to time.
